Jordan Tourism Day Activities Launched

On the 12th of this month, Jordan Tourism Day, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquates, will be launched in Jabal Al Qal'a under the title "Our mirror… Keep it in your eyes". This day forms a part of the Kingdom's celebrations of Arab Great Revolt Centennial.

 

This activity stems from the Ministry's vision to lead and support sustainable tourism to promote its role in national economy and Jordanian society. It also aims at raising the awareness of school and university students of the importance of preserving the Kingdom's rich and diversified archeological, natural, and cultural legacy in a sustainable manner that enriches the visitor's experience and Jordanians' lives and instilling such culture at childhood.

 

The celebration involves various activities and events such hand-made crafts and educational lectures that are a continuation of tourism courses program in the Kingdom's schools. Moreover, the activities included the largest gathering of social media activists was launched in addition to exempting Jordanian from the fees of entrance to touristic and archeological sites on that day.

 

Through the promotion of tourism in Jordan, the concerned bodies, led by the Ministry, seek to position Jordan on world tourism map, as they launched media campaigns early in the year, starting from the United Arab Emirates. Such campaigns focused on therapeutic tourism, touristic services and the beauties of Jordan.
